Death at Mile 10

I’ve decided to narrate the 1/2 marathon mile by mile for you. If you just want the juicy part, skip to mile 10 and read until the finish line…when I meet the hot doctor. Here we go:

Ready to Run

Last summer I had the bright idea to run a 1/2 marathon in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. But after the initial excitement and registration wore off I found myself hard-pressed to actually get out an run at all. That basically translated into me walking half the 1/2 and feeling rather silly for signing up in the first place.

This summer I had the crazy idea to redeem last summer’s failed attempt and so I find myself sitting on the couch waiting for a few people to show up at my house so we can all jump in the car and head up to Vancouver, BC. I run a 1/2 marathon on Sunday. Only this time, I’ve been putting in the hours for three months. Training to be able to endure 13.2 straight miles of running. My only goal is to run the whole way.
