History Completed!

Some of you may know the story of how my family became involved with Vision Nationals…

Arjuna was a young man working towards his Master’s in Theology at Talbot Seminary in the year 1985. Circumstances dictated that he leave his young wife and their one year old son in India while he took two years to complete his degree.

My dad, Rob, was also a young man at the time with two young children of his own (I was two years old). My dad and Arjuna met one Sunday after church through a mutual friend, and over a lunch conversation it became clear that Arjuna was thinking to forgo his scholarship and return home to India because it was too difficult to be separated from his family.

God put it on my dad’s heart to bring Arjuna’s family over from India and invite them to live with us so it would be possible for Arjuna to finish his Master’s. And so they came! And the Hunters and Chiguluris spent a crazy two years living in the same house with two completely opposite cultures and three young children!

While living with us in LA, Archana (Raji and Arjuna’s Daughter) was added to the family. My little sister, Rebecca, was just about to be born when the Chiguluris returned to India. And so it happens that even though we have considered each other family for over 20 years, and all the Hunters have been to India and all the Chiguluris have been to the US…We have never in the history of our story ever ALL been in together in the same place and the same time!

Until recently, that is…So here you have it! The first time our families have EVER been ALL together!!!

24 years later - We're all Together!

Meet My Boyfriend Joseph

June 13, 2009 · 1 Comment

One amazing occurance of the past few weeks has been the addition of Joseph Brian Stengele to my life! We met back in January through mutual friends who had us both over to dinner on the same night. A total set up. We met for coffee a few weeks after that, hung out a bit more after that, and started dating after that!

Joe and I

Joe and I

Joe is one of the coolest guys I have ever met! He LOVES the Lord, LOVES people, and feels called to ministry as I do. He is strong, he works hard, and he cares for me so well! I feel so blessed to be dating such a wonderful man!

Shortly after arriving back from Knoxville, my parents flew to Seattle to meet Joe! We had a great week hanging out, bar-b-queing, watching the sunset at the beach, and bopping around Seattle together. I am happy to report that my parents approve of Joe!

You can definitely keep us in your prayers.

Knoxville

Well, it’s been a while since I wrote and there has been MANY things that have taken place! So I’m going to back date these next three posts!

ANYWAY…After Colorado Springs, Arjuna, Raji and I traveled to Knoxville, TN where there are two amazing women, Mercy and Sandy, who have been working to connect us to the Buckner Foundation. We had great meetings with the people at the Foundation and we will see where this connection leads.

Mercy is an Indian lady from Vizag (the same city as Raji and Arjuna). She started a school there that grew to be the number one school in the entire city! She is a bit of a celebrity in Vizag to this day. Both Raji and Arjuna’s children graduated from her school

Sandy spent her life in medical administration and traveled all over the world. She met Mercy quite a few years ago and now Mercy and Sandy live together in Knoxville and continue to serve the Lord. They both have an AMAZING gift for hospitality as you can see from the INCREDIBLE buffet that Mercy prepared for 50 people the first night we were there!

Then they turned around and hosted a brunch the next morning for 30 women from their church! At both the dinner and the brunch a short film about VN was played and then Arjuna was able to speak about the ministry to those present.

It was a BUSY four days!
